Organic Beverages
Water is an often overlooked beverage. In New Zealand, many adults and children do not drink water. They rely on juices, soft drinks, tea and coffee to quench thirst, but, by
drinking those beverages, most times they do not supply the body with sufficient water. Many beverages are counter-productive to trying to maintain sufficient hydration. Water is also the best drink for our bodies because it doesn't contain kilojoules.
Organic Juices, Ginger Beer,
Organic beverages such as organic fruit and vegetable juices are now widely available, and there is a range of products for consumers to choose from. Organic fruit and vegetable juices are pure fruit or vegetable juices squeezed from fruit or vegetable with no other additives. The drinks can be freshly squeezed, mixed with outer juices, sweetened or unsweetened.
Not all organic drinks are beneficial for us. Some people would consider organic cordials, sodas and fizzy drinks non-beneficial, but for those people who are addicted to drinking this kind of drink, it is better that they drink organic than non-organic, until they can make the change to more healthy organic drinks. The 'not so healthy' drinks consist of water flavoured and sweetened with natural organic ingredients such as ascorbic acid and tartaric acid for preservatives, and honey, apple juice and agave syrup or ordinary sugar as sweeteners.
There is a large range of healthy organic beverages to appeal to the varied tastes and contexts of every day living, including coffee, tea, cocoa, tisanes (herbal infusions), water, fruit and vegetable juices, ginger juice, wine and spirits, milk, and beer.
